Fated to love you ~ Episode 18 Review

Omo omo what a wonderful episode! Feels like watching the earlier episodes of fated to love you eh? Too much sweetness in this episode feels unreal! Finally the writers realize that they have squeezed every tear from our eyes and we have now none to give anymore so they pay us back with getting our OTP together and giving us all what we had been craving so badly.

I have watched this episode so many times already in just the last two days that I’ve lost track of it. I was so glad to see Gunnieshii smiling and laughing, it was like a breath of fresh air! Honestly when was the last time we saw him smile? And our pervert Gun is back, I loved seeing his antics. His every look, every smile, every wink, every laugh he did to flirt with Mi-young just conveyed the message perfectly, I swear Jang Hyuk is such a versatile actor he has conveyed the role of a broken man, a flirt, a lover, a devoting husband, a sincere friend, a son so perfectly. I am in awe. I also loved our sassy Kim Mi-young, she is still our old kind Mi-young especially in this episode I could see so much of her old self but with new self confidence and boldness. I love that!

Initially I thought that it would be Gun who would run after Mi-young after the 3 year time jump and I wondering how the writers would make him do that since the reason why he left her is still there so nothing changes but the writers made Mi-young find out the truth and made her go to Gun. I really loved the opening scene of episode 18. Mi-young running to save Gun, it has always been Gun who saved Mi-young but this time tables had turned. I also loved how Gun still wouldn’t accept that all he did was out of love, when finally Mi-young told him that she knows everything he confessed his noble idiocy. When he said that he doesn’t has a right to love! Aww man I just wanted to cry for him. I loved how Mi-young says to him “Gunnieshhi are you stupid.” I was like you go girl!

Mi-young: “Lee Gun! I found out about everything. The reason why you lied to me, and why you pushed me away so viciously. Look me in the eyes when you lie to me, Tell me that you didn’t miss me at all for the past three years, and that I meant nothing to you. Tell me. Tell me. If you’re confident that you can live without me, I really will let you go.”
Lee Gun: “If you’re having a hard time or if you’re in pain, I’ll be in pain too. That’s why I lied.

Mi-young kisses him here I must say it was nice to see for the first time in my Kdrama viewing life a woman giving a surprise kiss and when Gun kissed her back. God that kiss was filled with so much longing, passion and love and Gun’s hair was not blocking the view either. Win/win situation.

Lee Gun: “I don’t have the right to love you.”
Mi-young: “Why do you need a right to love? No matter what happens, I won’t let you be alone, even when you’re hurt. I love you.”

In Mi-ja’s husband words that kind of kissing is considered Erotic! Hamo Hamo

The scene where they were eating dinner, how cute was the part where Mi-young calls him for a kiss but pinches his cheek instead- taking revenge for making her sad for three years- and Gun gives her another cheek and says can you take revenge on this side too. LOL how cute we could see the dimple as well.

I loved loved how Gun got so excited when Mi-young said that they will sleep here together haha and Mi-young pretended not to be affected by it all while Gun  throws the napkin, jumps on chair. Too too cute man!

Can we just take a moment and appreciate the bedroom scene now? How cute was that, seeing them lying together next to each other? I especially loved it when Gun said that could they do that thing again which they did earlier and then he spells out the word kiss in English K. I. double SS and then Mi-young repeats after him K.I.S.S I floved it!! I love it every time when Gun says anything in English.

They were so so close to kissing but damnit that secretary tak cock blocked them. Grrr
It was so so difficult for Gun to leave Mi-young in bed and attend the call but he did but before going he says to Mi-young “Stop the beat, stop the beat.” Did I say that I love it when he says speaks English?

That Romeo and Juliet comment by Tak and Gun saying that call Mi-young ‘Milliet’ instead was hilarious. When he jumps back in the bed someone please tell me how he did that stunt? I mean he jumped over Mi-young and landed on his side! That was so cool! I really want to see the BTS of this scene.

I could go on and on and describe each and every scene of theirs because they are so perfect together; the Jangs are so wonderful together their chemistry is sizzling.

I must say that I love the idea of Gun going on a three month vacation. Yuss get married and then go on a looooooong honeymoon and make 2,3 Gae ddong’s.

I loved how halmoni puts that idea in their mind that the best way to make Mi-young’s omma convince is that Mi-young should get pregnant again. God! I JUST LOVE HALMONI OKAY? OKAY?

She’s so desperate for a great grandbaby. Please Gun and Mi-young grant her wish soon!

I think episode 19 is probably going to end on Mi-young getting pregnant again. Aigoo I legit CAN NOT wait.

I am glad that Gun could have a closure with his dad. We learn that Gun’s father does the same thing that Gun was about to do. He left his wife, Gun’s mother and never told her about the disease. He actually never cheated on her, Yong’s mother was his care taker and Yong is not Gun’s half-brother.
We learn so much about him through his diary. The little details on it made me tear up.
How little things like this are written  “write the will/send money to wife's family, next month buy a robot for Gun so that he doesn’t forget it and then he has also written get out of the house, go home late, don't drink, don't cry”

Through these entries we can clearly see that Gun’s father truly loved his family but because of this terrible disease he cannot be a dad to her and can never be a husband to his wife.
We see how Huttington’s  is really a cruel disease and how its effects the family of the people who have and it not just kills the one who has it slowly kills the family of the effected people as well.

The hug that Gun and Mi-young share when Mi-young find him in his man cave reading the diary was so heartwarming.

I love Gun and Yong’s relationship; I loved how Gun refused to accept his resignation letter and asked yong to call him Hyung. I couldn’t help but aww at this part.

The scene between Mi-young and Gun when she’s painting and he’s pretending to read was so ASDDFGHJKKLVKL

Especially when she refuses to let him see the drawing she made and Gun tickles her! GAAAH too cute, too bloody cute alright!

Secretary tak again interrupts them when they are about kiss. Ugh why tak! Why? LMAO

I loved the whole sequence where they go to Mi-young’s friend’s house.

Mi-young introduce them both; Gun and her friend I LOLed at the wonderstruck reference! I Love when they do a throwback to their old shows!

Gun and Mi-young cleaning the house, making bed and everything was too cute and perfect.
Okay so I have run out of adjectives to describe my love for these two so I would use these words cute, sweet a lot and when I can’t come up with anything coherent you would probably see me saying ASDFGHJKL.
When they are both laying down on bed and Gun’s leans in for a kiss and Mi-young’s pushes him away! Gaaah cute, cute, cute just too cute alright?

One of my most favorite scene of the whole episode was the ending scene. I fucking LOOOOVED that scene.
Mi-young finds the chip which Gun gives to her in Macau and tears up remembering that time. Gun’s finds her like that and get worried seeing her cry. He goes to see and asks her why she’s crying and he’s so so sweet with her! OMG MY HEART CAN NOT HANDLE.

Unlike the kiss in the start which was filled with passion and longing the kiss they share over here is so sweet, passionate, slow, romantic and God, Gun is so tender with her *Weeping*

Lee gun: "You can’t disappear from my life this time. You need to stay put right beside me, just like this chip.”
Mi-young:“Just like you said, I’ll be just like this chip.”
Lee Gun: "You have to stay by my side forever, just like this chip. Got it?”

During the kissing the scene they blur the image and focus on ducklings that totally means they had sex and I just can’t believe they gave fade to black for the most awaited part! But I am hoping the 19th episode will start where 18 ended. It might just start from the morning after or if we are lucky it will continue from the kiss.
We still have two more episodes left I have hope that we will see wedding and pregnancy! Oh God even the thought of that makes me giddy! I have trust in writernim and PDnim they won’t disappoint us. After going through 6 episodes of angst it’s not too much to ask. Right?

Oh and fated to love you secured first position in the ratings! *Woot woot*

Final words this episode was sheer perfection. I can never get enough of it. I am going to watch it 100 times. The Jang’s were perfect, the comedy, the romance, the scenes everything was just daebak!
I can’t believe we are down to only two episodes now next week is going to bring an end to this wonderful journey, I am teary eyed already. I wish this show would go on forever haha I WISH lol.
This show introduced me to Jang NaRa and Jang Hyuk, they have become my favorite Korean tv actors now. I am going to watch all their shows. I am hoping they would do another show again and SOON! We don’t want to wait another 12 years for them to work together again.

Lastly guys very, very IMPORTANT. Please read.

Fated to love you ~ Episode 17 Review

The episode that really made me cry after episode 12 was this episode. There was too much sadness, even the happy scenes were so so sad. Up until now I have never really hated Gun but in this episode he was cruel, just so so cruel. I was hoping there would be a breakthrough, a real confrontation between Mi-young and Gun at the start of the episode when Mi-young discovers that Gun is the one who brought the “Le sigh” painting but instead of confessing everything Gun puts on that façade of not being in love with her. He tells her that all their message conversations, every word of encouragement he told her were a lie; the crushed look on Mi-young’s face was so heartbreaking to watch. At that moment I just wanted to sweep her in a warm hug and take away all the pain. I was like why Gun? Why? Why are you being so cruel to her? If I would have been at mi-young’s place I would have slapped him, hit him for playing with her feelings like that. What Mi-young said to him really hit me so hard.

Mi-young: "Do you know who Young-ja was to me?” I thought, ‘I met someone who completely understands me,’ ‘I met someone who understands my paintings.’ How consoling that was… how thankful I was.”
Lee Gun: "You’re quite pathetic, Kim Mi-young, How could you not have changed at all in the past three years? You’re deceived by others easily and trust them so well, like a fool. When will you correct that habit?”

The heartbreaking cries of Mi-young when Gun leaves the studio and Gun sitting at the stairs crying crushed my soul.

I kept saying to myself again and again that why they both have to endure so much pain, they don’t deserve this shit. They have already gone through so much. They should be happy and together they both are causing each other pain for no reason at all! Uggh I was at the point of pulling my hair.

Honestly I was not surprised when Mi-young decided to go to Paris being in the same city as gun has given her nothing but pain. There’s just too much a girl can take.

I really like how Mi-young is not the one to let it go easily, when she reads the message conversation between her and gun it is difficult for her to believe that all the sweet words he said to her were a lie. A man can pretend to someone else once, twice but not every time. It’s not Gun’s nature to be this hard and cold. He is the man who has always supported Mi-young, encouraged her, stood up for her so many times and then from being so sweet to her he suddenly becomes a jerk to her, it is difficult to believe. Three years ago Mi-young let him push her away at that time situation was very different mi-young was hurt she lost the baby, she was not in the right state of  mind to confront gun, she still did it though but she was not very resilient but this time our Kim Mi-younshii is super glue.

Mi-young goes to his office again to return him the money of the painting and ask him why he’s so cruel to her? Of course our dear gunnie will never tell truth right? He has already made up his mind to suffer for the rest of his life; he has already made a decision for both of them. He is cruel self again and honestly I hated him so much at that point especially when he throws away the money she gives him. Honestly Gunnie sshi you don’t have to act so cold towards her. Again I wanted to wipe away Mi-young’s tears and take away her pain.

Even though Gun is being his noble idiot self, this episode is an episode of confrontations and revelations. So what if Gun would not tell Mi-young the truth when you are fated to be together there’s nothing you can do to change that.
Bless our lawyer’s good heart who took the first step in telling Mi-young the truth. I was waiting for the time when Mi-young finally discovers that tape recorder in which Gun recorded his will, yaay for the lawyer who puts it in her bag for her to only discover it just before her flight.

But before our favorite lawyer’s little stunt Mi-young’s friend tells her that Gun has been single for 3 years by the way her question when she asks Mi-young whether Gun is good in bed or no was epic! And then SeRa tells Mi-young the truth about the divorce papers.

I honestly loved SeRa so much in that moment. I think Gun breaking all ties with her made her finally realize that she can never have gun back in her life, that’s probably what gave her the courage to tell Mi-young the truth.
But who actually brought our Mi-young and Gunnie together is our Danielicious oppa. He learns all about Gun’s reasons for pushing Mi-young away, through SeRa and he just wouldn’t keep that huge secret to himself right? At least someone here believes that Mi-young has the right to make her own decisions about her life. Thank you, Daniel for not treating Mi-young like a doll and for actually believing that she is strong enough to handle whatever life throws at her.

When he U-turns the car with one hand and takes the route of Gun’s home, I was like THANK YOU KDRAMA GODS!! FINALLY some ray of sunshine
.

Daniel has officially become my favorite second Kdrama lead now. I wish he finds his happiness as well at the end.

I laughed so hard when Mi-young asks halmoni that if she could wait for Gun in his room and halmoni replies that it’s no problem at all she can officially move in if she wants! LMAO.

Dear halmoni your wish will granted soon don’t worry.

It was so bittersweet to watch Mi-young in Gun’s room again, they made so many wonderful memories together in that particular room and seeing the flashbacks of their good times made me so sad and happy.
The real breakthrough happened when Mi-young finally goes to Gun’s man cave and discovers that he has still kept Gae ddong’s crib, his toys and even clothes.
The breaking point for Mi-young was that when she sees the recoded video messages of Gun.

He recorded videos of himself just talking about his life, about Gae ddong, about Mi-young.

Lee Gun: “You have a woman you love. Her name is Kim Mi-young and her hometown is Yeoul Island. Like a fool, she’s a kind woman who takes good care of someone who’s hurting. She’s a very lovable woman.”
About dog poppie he says “But Keddongie isn’t here anymore. He went very far away.”

He recorded these messages in case if he gets amnesia again and forgets everythin. At that moment it really sunk in that how cruel this disease this. How this makes you so helpless, how you have never no control over your life anymore. Gosh!

Mi-young finally learns the truth at that moment she realizes Gun’s suffering and the fact that he has loved her all this while. For me that particular moment was the saddest part of the whole episode! My laptop screen was blurred because of the tears that welled up in my eyes; no show has affected me this hard.

And now I want to be paid back with interest for all the tears I have shed over this show. I want a real happy ending for our lovely couple! I have high hopes that writers will not disappoint us with an open ended ending. The original had a happy ending and also this show is a romantic comedy, giving it a sad or open ended ending will be really stupid.

Fated to love you ~ Episode 15 and 16 Review

I decided to post the review of both the episodes together because it would save me a lot of time. As you have seen the review has been super late, I’ve been really busy with college and on top of that my internet is also being a shit and hence the delay.

So without ado here it is.

We got to see more interaction between our snail couple in both episodes 15 and 16. Episode 15 was lighthearted and funny whereas episode 16 was heavier.

Our OTP is really moving at a snail’s pace. At times I get frustrated, I wish they would just talk out the differences because they clearly are still in love with each other; they both still have feelings for each other. I will give credit to Mi-young though she has been very vocal about her emotions. She was the first to confess her love to Gun and even now she point blank asked Gun multiple times if he still has feelings for her.

Here she clealy asks him if he's not at all uncomfortable when he see her?

Gun on the other hand is sometimes hot and sometimes cold, he wants her but at the same time he is afraid of being with her. I am so annoyed by his noble idiocy! God! I wish he would just stop thinking that they are better off separated because they are clearly very miserable, they will only find true happiness if they are together.
I just wanna shake him, slap him multiple times and make him understand that they are fated to be together and Gun have already wasted 3 precious years of their life thinking that she will not be happy with him but it’s about time he realizes that that’s not the case!
Hopefully ending scene of episode 16 will be a breakthrough in that regard. I am not sure if I should feel excited that the whole thing is revealed in that way or I should dread the upcoming episode because that revelation might just cause more misunderstandings. Mi-young clearly looked annoyed upon learning that he’s young –ja.

I was glad for one part that our OTP is actually talking, arguing per se but still something is better than nothing. The scene where they meet at the accident place on dog-poppie’s anniversary, Mi-young asks Gun to not come here anymore out of obligation or whatever I was glad Gun didn’t pretend that that’s why he comes here every year! He told her that dog-poopie Is his baby too and he loves him as much she does.

Mi-young: “ You don’t need to come here again. I will remember Gae Ddong forever so..Lee Gun you can forget it and live comfortably.
Gun: “Hey Miss Kim Mi-young, I can forget it and you can’t? Don’t be absurd. Why would I do that?’
Mi-young: “Its because Gae Ddong is my child.”
Gun: “Gae Ddong is my child too.”
Mi-young: “You had already given up all your rights before the accident. You gave up even your love for Gae Ddong.”
Gun: “Miss Ellie Kim you changed your name because you wanted a fresh start, right? Then it’s ridiculous for you to come here and recall all the traces of your bad memories. If Gae Ddong were here our child would laugh at you hard.”

There was another scene in episode 16 where I was glad that Gun clearly tells Mi-young that he loves omma like a mother and he’s not going to stop seeing her because they didn’t work out.

Mi-young: “I asked you to meet my mother again.”
Gun: “Do I have to do as you say?”
Mi-young: “Your attitude is the problem. You don’t care about other people’s feelings and always do whatever you want. Have you ever tried to do a favor that I asked you?”
Gun: "How can you be so sure? Did you see me not trying?”
Mi-young: “You are telling me that you tried but regardless of me asking sincerely you brought me a anchovy Ssambop as a late night snack.”
Gun: “Excuse me Ellie Kim, I had this anchovy Ssambop for the first time in my life at your mother’s island at yeowol island. I’ve been addicted to this strange food ever since. How am I only one to blame? Why am I the only one to stop eating this food? Your precious mother that you want to protect so badly became my mother too. If you want to steal my mother like this all of a sudden what do you want me to do? What?”

I am glad that Gun is at least being honest with his feelings for Gae Ddong and omma.

I really feel bad for Gun whenever there’s scene of him sitting in his man-cave, talking to dog poppie, I get so so sad. My heart hurts for him so bad.

The flashback scene where we saw him crying after the loss of dog-poppie was just devastating to watch! Gosh it was as if someone is piercing needles through my heart!

One thing I would like to say that I’ve never seen a show where they have dealt with the miscarriage plot so wonderfully.  Dog-poppie has become a character itself and they way they’ve shown Gun and Mi-young deal with all this is applause worthy.

Both Gun and Mi-young never got an opportunity to grieve for their baby together, right now they should talk with each other really talk. They should deal with the loss of dog-poppie. They should grieve together; they should cry their heart out because only they understand the intensity of their pain. Both Gun and Mi-young have different ways of dealing with this Mi-young through her art and Gun in his man-cave. Its time they deal with this together only then they can find some sort of peace in their life.

I was glad that Mi-young never accepted Daniel’s proposal because if she would have I would have been really disappointed. By rejecting his proposal it seems that she has actually matured, she is not going to do anything out of obligation now. She has learnt to say no and can stand up for herself.

I love secretary tak and yong, they are two of my favorite characters in the show. Secretary tak’s antics are hell lot of funny. His dance, his butt smacking and all his scenes with Gun are my favorite!

I also love how he really cares for Gun and looks out for him. When he sends a video message to Mi-young was one of the sweetest scenes of episode 15.

Both Tak and Yong are our snail couples biggest cheerleader. They both support them, want them to be together and are doing everything for them to be together.

I also love Gun’s relationship with yong I am so glad that they are behaving like brothers now. I want to see more scenes of them, more interaction between them.
I also totally support Yong and and Mi-young’s friend’s relationship, glad they are officially a couple now and I also love how Yong actually calls her noona! Aww

SeRa and Daniel I don’t know how I feel about them, No wait I actually like SeRa I feel sorry for her. Daniel on the other hand is just not someone I really care about. I think he’s just wasting his time with Mi-young LOL he doesn’t really stands a chance. I just need him to find his sister as soon as possible so that he has another damsel in distress to save who would actually need and appreciate all his help.

Although I don’t actually hate SeRa but I was seriously annoyed by her in episode 16 where she and Mi-young have lunch together. I thought she would come clean with Mi-young and will tell her that she doesn’t has any relationship with Gun but instead she pretended to behave as such that she and Gun are in a relationship.

Her scene with Daniel had a reverse affect, it was Daniel who annoyed me and I actually loved SeRa there. Daniel questioning her about her relationship with Gun, I was glad she was honest with him at least and I also loved how she admitted that she has done many wrongs to both Mi-young and Gun. I was really annoyed at Daniel for saying that he’s asking all these questions because he proposed to Mi-young. Umm so what? Daniel. You proposed to her but she didn’t accept so she isn’t engaged to you. You have no right to use this excuse and ask questions about Gun and SeRa’s relationship. I was actually not annoyed with him asking SeRa about her relationship with Gun what annoyed me was when he said that he’s asking her because has a right as a person who proposed to Mi-young. Err yeah that doesn’t make sense.

I swear both these brother and sister were just born to create trouble for out OTP. I just hope they will find each other sooner.

I love, love, LOVE the relationship dynamic Gun and Mi-young’s mum have. I love how she treats her like her own son and how he sees her like a mother! Gaaah I just LOVE it okay?

MBC is being very cruel to us though. Giving us 5 episodes of OTP separation and now ending episode 16 on a evil cliffhanger! How I am supposed to survive that ending. Like I said above that I don’t know, should I be happy or sad. On one hand I am glad that Gun has finally revealed that he’s actually Young- Ja on the other hand I really fear the reaction of Mi-young. I really don’t know what to expect to expect will this revelation bring them closer or would create more misunderstanding. I think the initial reaction of Mi-young would be anger, she might feel betrayed but I hope later she’s able to see that Gun’s good intention behind this.

Mi-young: “You were Young-ja? Lee Gun, why are you doing this to me? Who the hell are you?”
Gun: “Yes, Kim Mi-young. I’m your number one fan, Lee Young-ja.”

One more thing when Gun finally confesses that he was the one who was pretending to be Young-Ja was he actually confessing his love for her? Because Young-Ja is his number fan and she actually admires and loves her very much. In one scene Gun clearly says how much she loves and admires Mi-young

Gun: “There was a girl I used to know. That girl wore ugly glasses and thought that she was an ugly duckling. But in my eyes, she was so very beautiful. In her heart was the widest sea and the brightest star. She was a beautiful girl who cherished those qualities. Women want to change their outer appearances into something fancier than themselves, but actually… a woman is most lovable and beautiful when she’s a girl full of dreams.”

I hope Mi-young in her anger doesn't forget all the things he said to he while he was pretending to be Young-Ja

On the other hand Gun when enters the studio he sees Mi-young’s painting of a lollipop man which is clearly Gun obviously. She made this painting while they were separated.

Mi-young gave this heart candy to Gun in episode two and said to her “Those people who desire sweet things are the people who wish to be happy” she wishes him all the happiness. When they were separated for 3 years she drew this painting of him surrounded by those lollipops. This means that she wishes him all the happiness in the world, even after what happened with them her happiness is only with him.
I hope Gun understands this meaning of her painting and they clear up all the misunderstandings and then also make use of the bed that’s kept in the studio. No just kidding I hope they just talk! Talk out their issues and confess their Love for their each other coz there are only  four episodes left, I want some OTP romance before the ending and some real rice-cakes making scene.

Just something I want to say before I end. Jang NaRa and Jang Hyuk are nailing it as Kim Mi-Young and Lee Gun. The last scene of episode 16 brought tears to my eyes..It was just brilliant.
